Slapdee Apologizes For Doing A Political Song, Also Asks His Management To Withdraw His Nomination

XYZ Entertainments founder Mwila Musonda popularly known as Slapdee, has been in the center of controversy on Social Media of late. This began when he did a political song for the former ruling party PF (Patriotic Front). Most people were not happy with his decision of doing a campaign song. However, the Patriotic Front lost elections but it seems most Zambians are still not happy with the political song he did. He was earlier nominated at the Afrimma Awards in the category “Best Male Southern Africa” alongside South African rapper – Cassper Nyovest. Most Zambians have decided not to vote for him because of the political song he had done for the Patriotic Front. They are voting for Cassper Nyovest than their own artist Slapdee. About an hour ago, Slapdee posted a statement where he apologised to his fans and also said he asked his management to withdrawl his nomination. Read his statemnt below.

Greetings all,
The last two days have been heavy with debates over my AFFRIMA nomination. This has somehow dragged to the people I love and care for because what started as an honest debate has turned into total turmoil.
I get it, I took my influence for granted and made a selfish decision. I let down the very people I should have fought for and stood by. For that I am HONESTLY SORRY. I write this not to win sympathy over the on going nomination but purely for a smooth and peaceful life with those I may have hurt. Indeed mistakes were made and lessons have been learnt.
As a sign of remorse, I have asked management to withdraw my AFRIMMA nomination with immediate effect because what’s winning a trophy when you can’t win the hearts of your own people?
Again I say, I’m sorry for all the damage I may have caused to any of you.πŸ™πŸΎ
Peace, love and light,
Shi Nandi.
